I feel like blogs have changed dramatically since I started blogging. When I began, most of the blogs I read were personal, people sharing stories about themselves and their life journeys. And now, most of the blogs I read are how tos, or about products, or cooking... more like magazines, really.
I saw a sign today that said "For Sale: business & blog."
That about says it all, really.
I miss a lot of my blog friends, although many I can still catch up with on facebook because we're there. What is nice about military friend blogs is that I might meet them at some point in our travels. I've actually met quite a few, which has been nice. I have made some lasting friendships that I hope continue for a long time.
But blogging has changed. Much of it is not personal. And that's okay. But I think a lot of us (eye roll) old schoolers are feeling a little out of place. We talk on our blogs like we've propped out pajama clad legs on the toy strewn coffee table for just a minute while we savor speaking like a grown up. And a lot of what we read now sounds like people at desks who are wearing shoes.
Anyway, just an observation. I plan to continue to pajama blog, but I haven't been the most reliable. Just wanted to share what was on my mind.
I know exactly what you mean. I actually have been thinking of doing a post kinda like this soon. Sometimes I feel like blogging is like middle school and I'm the last kid picked for sports in gym. Trying to get back to my original reasons for blogging
ReplyDeleteI hope all is well. I haven't been by in a long, long time. I thought this seemed like a good blog to post on. I've noticed the blogging trend too. Hopefully there's still enough good out there to make it worth it. Anyway if you feel like it, look me up on facebook - Windy Richardson.
